I’m an hour advanced stretching well into night;
I am missing a deadline and feeling contrite;
I’m a way to refer to the dead that’s polite;
And the end of the game when the teams find their fight.

Who am I?
=
I tend to fidget if things detain me when I'm dashing off to an engagement, same as the grand clothed white hare which shouted, "I'm LATE, I'm LATE--for a very important date!" in the hit 'Alice in Wonderland'.
