Thursday Morning Riddle

I am found in a playground for kids’ recreation;
When you play a trombone, I adjust modulation;
I am hitting your base at a low elevation;
And a page in a PowerPoint-made presentation.

Who am I?

UPDATE: Riddle solved by Asher. See comments for answer.

    SLIDE is correct. Way to go, Asher!

    The original version, for posterity:

    I am used to change pitch on a tenor trombone;
    Hit your base scraping low when a ball might be thrown;
    Where kids line up in groups, but must come down alone;
    And a page in the show where a PowerPoint’s shown.

    I did really like this one, but I recently used this rhyme, and I try to mix it up. So I’m very happy to share it with you now.

    I really liked the re-write. “…brevity is the soul of wit…”

  5. Bill Says:

    Thanks, Asher.

    If anything, though, the re-write is longer, since the soft ending adds an extra syllable to each line. But it looks shorter, because the four-syllable words are space-efficient.

    SLIDE….and I didn’t look at the above answers first.
    Can never seem to get here first – but am always impressed with the riddles you’re able to come up with on the fly.

    Cheers,
    Trish
