Shakespeare Anagram: Antony and Cleopatra

This makes three in a row from the same play, but Egypt’s in the news. I envision one possible outcome of the protests.

From Antony and Cleopatra:

Some innocents ‘scape not the thunderbolt.
Melt Egypt into Nile! and kindly creatures
Turn all to serpents!

Shift around the letters, and it becomes:

Men end hell. Constant protesting stunts turn Hosni Mubarak to non-entity. People elect leaders directly.

  1. Dharam Says:

    Speak up, protest, YELL!
    Man, son, student, intern,
    Hell-bent on steel democracy;
    Unrein the long-stint dictator!

  2. Dharam Says:

    Oops, I don’t think unrein is a word. I’ll try another:

    Speak up!
    Be not silent, relentless students,
    Plainly intent on democracy;
    Unthrone the long-term dictator.

  3. Bill Says:

    We’re not sticklers for real words here. Both anagrams are fantastic!

  4. Warren Says:

    Slightly off topic, but did you know an anagram of “William Shakespeare” is “I am a weak speller”?!

  5. Bill Says:

    Welcome, Warren!

    It’s not off-topic at all, though you do have to use the less elegant construction “weakish” to make the anagram work.

    But as I said, we’re not sticklers here.
