This was, of course, meant to be a joke.  The whole post is actually meant to be taken as tongue-in-cheek.

I saw a friend of mine at a party on Friday night, and he mentioned that this post seemed to be a little more stream-of-conscious than most of the posts on this blog.

I wanted to acknowledge the birthday, but didn't really have anything profound to say, so I just decided to have a little fun with the number.</description>

He was born in 1564 or B (for birth) + 1564.

And 2008 - 444 = 1564.

So 2008 - 1564 = 444.
