This is a bit of a departure from the series<\/a> format, but I hope you’ll enjoy it.<\/p>\n

\nI’m Henry VIII, I Am<\/strong>
\nsung to the tune of “I’m Henry the Eighth, I Am”<\/p>\n

(With apologies to Herman’s Hermits and anyone who gets this stuck in their heads all day…)<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Henry VIII, I am.
\nHenry VIII I am, I am.
\nI got married to a princess from Spain,
\nTo give me an heir to extend my reign.
\nBut she couldn\u2019t give a son to Henry (Henry!).
\nShe only put a daughter in the pram (The Pram!).
\nNot good enough for Henry…
\nHenry VIII I am!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nSecond verse, same as the first!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Henry VIII, I am.
\nHenry VIII I am, I am.
\nI got married to my first wife\u2019s maid;
\nWe fell in love at the masquerade.
\nBut when she gave a daughter to Henry (Henry!),
\nI realized that our marriage was a sham (A Sham!).
\nIt\u2019s unwise to disappoint Henry…
\nHenry VIII I am!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nThird verse, same as the first!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Henry VIII, I am.
\nHenry VIII I am, I am.
\nI got married to a woman named Jane;
\nI\u2019d gotten quite used to the ball and chain.
\nBut she didn\u2019t stay long for Henry (Henry!).
\nChildbirth had left her in a jam (A Jam!).
\nAt least she left a son for Henry…
\nHenry VIII I am!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nFourth verse, same as the first!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Henry VIII, I am.
\nHenry VIII I am, I am.
\nI got married to a Duchess named Anne;
\nA treaty with our marriage was the master plan.
\nBut she was a shock to Henry (Henry!).
\nThat portrait done by Holbein was a scam (A Scam!).
\nThis is no wife for Henry…
\nHenry VIII I am!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nFifth verse, same as the first!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Henry VIII, I am.
\nHenry VIII I am, I am.
\nI took a blooming rose to be my bride,
\nShe was a bit on the younger side.
\nBut she went back to her boyfriend before Henry (Henry!),
\nAnd neither of their lives were worth a damn (A Damn!).
\nYou don\u2019t run around on Henry…
\nHenry VIII I am!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nSixth verse, same as the first!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Henry VIII, I am.
\nHenry VIII I am, I am.
\nI got married to the widow next door;
\nTogether we\u2019d been married seven times before.
\nBut she was a good wife to Henry (Henry!),
\nDoing all the things a good wife does (Wife Does!).
\nShe even outlived Henry…
