Six Degrees of Sir Francis Bacon: Ferdinand Magellan

First, read the rules of the game.

This week’s challenge is the later, greater, circumnavigator Ferdinand Magellan.

I was able to link Ferdinand Magellan to Sir Francis Bacon in four degrees, though that shouldn’t stop you from posting a longer response, or looking for a shorter one. Entries will be accepted until midnight on Thursday, March 8.

Good luck!

    Magellan -> Priest John -> Shakespeare -> Bacon

    Wow. I completely missed that one. Nice work!

    Three degrees. I seriously doubt there’s a shorter one, but all are welcome to try.

    Magellan -> Moors -> Shakespeare -> Bacon

    An impressive connection!

    For future reference, though, only individuals may be used in the winning entry. So “Moors” would be an ineligible link.

    Still, three degrees – however you did it – is nothing to sneeze at. The shortest connection I was able to find for this one was four degrees.

    Not that it matters now, but mine was:

    Ferdinand Magellan > King Charles V of Spain > King Henry VIII of England > Queen Elizabeth I of England > Sir Francis Bacon
