Both creative guesses, and I see the logic in them, but both are — well, I’m hesitant to use the word “wrong” for such an interpretive activity, but let’s just say that neither answer was what I was thinking of when composing the riddle. There’s a better fit still out there.
So the game’s still afoot…

Well, it’s been over a month since anyone has given an answer. I guess it’s time to post the solution.
It’s GOOGLE.
1. memory=computer memory
2. It’s more properly a proper noun, but transitively becoming a transitive verb.
3. sights=sites
4. A “Googol” is the number expressed by a one followed by one hundred zeroes.
