Conundrum: Pic Tac Toe II

In a “Pic Tac Toe” puzzle, there are nine pictures in a three-by-three grid, like Tic-Tac-Toe. In each row, column, and diagonal, there is a common theme that unites the three pictures. The challenge is to find the eight themes.

    Agree with Annalisa for the most part. I wonder if the top row is Movies, with the jack-o-lantern representing “Halloween,” but Fire seems more specific.

    Center row: Stone (Phillips, Alicia Silver, Sharon)
    Bottom row: Commodities? (OJ, eggs, wine)
    Other diagonal: Os? (OJ, O’Donnell, Jack-O-Lantern)

    You two got all of them right except for the bottom row, and you’re on the right track there.

    Glad to be here! I think Cryptograms were all the rage by the time I saw an issue of GAMES.

    That bottom row… can’t go with colors (blue egg, red wine) because the “O” doesn’t stand for orange. The most general answer would be food and drink (juice, eggs, wine).

    Another, more creative option? Retirement plans (staying out of jail, nest egg, vineyard).
